Make New Friends But Keep the Old
"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is sliver and the other gold." So goes the old camp song I sang in my youth. And it's true. For the last three days I've been on an slumber party with my old High School gang of girls. We laughed, retold old stories from our wild years. Hiked. Caught up on each other's lives. Ate. Sat in the hot tub. And laughed some more.
Of course we went out to a dessert dinner.
We thought it was a good idea at the time.
Someone once said that it's a sin if we don't enjoy the gifts God gives us, and friendships are one of those gifts. They're an important part of our self care.I hope you're investing in your friendships. They're the people who'll weep with you in the hard times and laugh with you in the good.Make new friends. Treasure the old. Hang out with both.Susan "Jesus likes it when we share." -Adelaide, age 3: Pass this on to everybody and their brother. OK, maybe not everybody's brother, but you know what I mean ... all of your friends would be nice.
