Worshipping Jesus and Olympic Glory

Worshipping Jesus and Olympic Glory by Susan Gaddis

How refreshing to hear children from all over the British Isles singing hymns at the beginning of the Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 London Olympics. Young voices worshipping Jesus—it rang as a melodic proclamation that the King of Kings still reigns over the majestic events of mankind. We may have our sports heroes and triumphant marches, but it is Jesus who sits at the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20).

Worshipping Jesus

It is Jesus who formed the mountains by his power, and armed himself with strength (Psalm 65:6).It is Jesus who is exalted to the highest place and has been given a name that is above every name (Philippians 2:9).It is Jesus who will return to planet earth wearing crowns and riding a white horse (Revelation 19:11-16).It is Jesus who will rule and reign for all the ages to come in eternity future (Revelation 20-21).I hope you enjoy the Olympics this week. Just don't forget the One who will receive worship and praise from every nation, tribe, people and language (Revelation 7:9-10). I'm so looking forward to that day! SusanNow it's your turn: How do the Olympics inspire you in your worship of Jesus?Related posts: My British friend, Liz Babbs, has composed and voiced a free meditation called Going for the Gold for these 2012 Olympics.
