Behind the Scenes and Center Stage With Prophetic Intercession

Those involved in prophetic intercession are seeing things happen in unseen places that are impacting our physical world. I know that sounds like science fiction, but . . . really.

In this series of posts I’d like to introduce you to the world of intercession and how you can leave a legacy of prayer.

Behind the Scenes With Prophetic Intercession

Gabriel surveyed the map in front of him. Night was beginning to spread blackness over the Western Hemisphere. He watched the darkness quickly dim as the fire of God began to light up the spirit realm over each city and town. Gabriel enjoyed this ongoing display as each region on the map entered the night hours.

Numerous homes in northern Florida lit up as people responded to his invisible messengers nudging them awake with new prayer assignments. The middle states and Canada quickly followed with their illumination of prayer.

It was never really “night-dark” on this map; only “spirit-dark” in places still closed to the gospel. Even those sections were beginning to glow as intercessors countered the work of the dark spirits.

Gabriel glanced at Michael, because they were both due in the throne room. The archangel was studying the vibrating map intently. Neither of them had seen this much prayer activity since the Moravians had begun their chain of intercession years ago.

That prayer meeting had lasted over 100 years and thrust missionaries into a world asleep to the Great Commission. Although briefed to expect this concentrated prayer at the beginning of the 21st century, they were both still surprised at its intensity. It was needed. They had work to do.

Gabriel knew Michael’s troops stood equipped, as did his, for their latest assignment. Already the courtyard was resounding with talk of the King’s preparations for battle.

A lot depended on the intercessors below, and he hoped they knew how important their prayers were in the plans and purposes of the Father. The “end” of the end times was upon them, and the King’s intercessors needed to be well prepared for the task ahead. Their participation in the unseen realm was vital to the salvation of nations and the ushering in, once again, of the King to Planet Earth.

Prophetic Intercession on Center Stage

The above story may seem fanciful, but it isn’t. Visions and dreams are part of intercession and revival. I know because I’ve experienced it. The promise of Acts 2:17, 18 is currently being fulfilled around the world:

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

No longer does the book of Revelation seem mysterious to many who are learning that God often speaks in symbols, pictures, and prophecies. They, too, see things happening in the once unseen realm and are able to enter that activity through the doorway of prayer.

These people are not willing to ignore the summons of God to stand before Him and plead for the nations, because these people are intercessors.

Intercessors are a key factor in God’s plans for the future. They are the advance team of Christians who dare to enter enemy territory through prayer and lay claim to spiritual ground held captive by the adversary of mankind’s souls.

Spiritual roadblocks that have hindered evangelism are being removed because of these dedicated people who take the job of prayer seriously. Their heart is for individuals and for nations.

Through their intercession, the highways are cleared for the evangelists, missionaries, and pastors who follow with the message of Jesus Christ. Like John the Baptist their heart’s cry is as . . .

A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it” (Isaiah 40:3–5 NIV).

Welcome to my world! I’m an intercessor, and I find prophetic intercession increasing in these end times. Join me over the coming weeks as we explore prophetic intercession, and how you can leave a legacy of prayer.

Just a note: most of today’s post is taken from my book, Intercessors, God’s End-time Vanguard-How to Pray Effectively For the Things That Matter Most. I hope you enjoyed it, Susan

Today’s question: What would you like to learn, or what have you experienced in prophetic intercession?

Dreams for my prodigal. May God pour out His spirit and send revival, and may the church experience it first in humility and then flame to a darkened world!.

First humility and then a flame–I like that, Lilly. May it be so, Amen.

DEAR Susan….THANK YOU so much for this wonderful description of an intercessor!!! You have described my Jim to a tee!!! He’s probably still involved in the spiritual battle in Heaven!!!! I doubt he can stop……

I wonder if God has a ‘band of intercessors’ grinding away at the enemy’s strongholds, and coming alongside of those of us still down here…..to support and encourage us till we join them!!!!

Of course I cried buckets when I read it….it’s going into my ‘keeper’ drawer, AFTER I’ve passed it on to many….

    Love you Susan xx

I think God does have a heavenly band of intercessors in heaven, Moira, and Jesus is the chief intercessor. I’m encouraged. 🙂

I have seen this image on my vision that God gave to me.

    Blessings…

Awesome, Adora. That’s great confirmation for both of us! 🙂
