A father builds a legacy by answering his son’s question, “Why do we have heroes?” I hope you find this short clip by the Skit Guys as meaningful as I did.
Question of the day: How are you honoring our fallen heroes this Memorial Day?

“Jesus says to share.” (Adelaide, age 3): Pass this along to everybody and their brother. OK, maybe not everybody’s brother, but you know… all of your friends would be good. Feel free to start with one of the Be Sociable, Share buttons below.

It is meaningful, and I do admire those who are willing to put their lives on the line for the country. The problem I have in the midst of all of that though is this dilemma: How do we love our enemies as Jesus commanded? What does that look like? It is hard to see that it looks like war and fallen men and women. Is pacifism the answer, the willingness to be run over and even die,or is their really a place that is considered godly for these soldiers to be asked to kill men, women, and children, for the sake of our liberty. It’s a tough one.
Tough one. I don’t know how loving our enemies flows with war. Not sure pacifism is the answer though. Are soldiers being asked to kill women and children for the sake of our liberty? Sounds like a discussion to be had someday around the table with Jesus. I would like to hear more input on this dilemma, Lilly. Anyone else care to comment?
