Celtic Prayer for Your Family

Adelaide and her father's legs at Holy in the Daily

Those of My Heart, Lord

Those of my heart, Lord,

Into your hands and into your keeping,

This day and this night,

In the name of the Father,

The Son, and the Spirit Holy.

I hold them before you, Lord,

In the tasks they have to do;

In the decisions they face;

In their worries and fears—

Be their Companion, Guide, and Best Friend.

I hold them before you, Lord,

In their joys and disappointments

In their successes and failures;

In their goings and their restings—

Be their Lord, their King, their God.

Those of my heart, Lord

Into your hands and into your keeping,

This day and this night,

In the name of the Father,

The Son, and the Spirit Holy.

    I like that one. It is a good one to pray when you’re tired and still want to pray, but your own words are a jumble! Thanks, Susan.

    You nailed it, Lilly. Written prayers help me the most when I need the words in front of my eyes or so ingrained in my mind that they tumble out from memory.

    And Dani, I’m glad you found it beautiful. Thank you.

    You’re very poetic, Mother! This is wonderful :-).

    Thank you, Daughter. You know I have to come up with really good prayers for you and yours–especially Korbin. I want him to live to grow up and I’m not sure that his spiderman adventures won’t lead him to jump off the roof. I guess if he ends up loving Jesus then I will be content regardless of what roof or tree becomes his launching pad.

    Love this prayer,and not just because I’m Celtic 🙂

    Love your site!
